World of Warcraft has, for the most part, always had fantastic expansions (with the exception of Warlords of Draenor, of course…) and usually bring back millions of subscribers. However this expansion announcement has garnered a certain amount of controversy and has been labeled by some as the “PvP expansion” which couldn’t be more wrong. This expansion will of course feature Faction on Faction gameplay, but that doesn’t necessarily mean PvP is involved (in the case of the Warfronts, though in the Island Expeditions there can be PvP gameplay).
I believe this expansion will be just as good, if not better than, Legion. Why? Because we’re getting all the same content that made people love Legion such as mythic+, emissaries, and actual stuff to do end game with some additional playable options including the new Warfronts feature and a chance to plunder new uncharted islands in search for Azerite and other treasures.
Regarding mythic+, Blizzard has stated that the dungeons that will be released with Battle for Azeroth are designed around mythic+ in mind which tells me that they will beore engaging at higher keystone levels than the dungeons in Legion.
We don’t know much about Warfronts and Island Plundering yet, however I have no doubt that they’ll be a fun new aspect in World of Warcraft.
